The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rainfall in 19 districts of Odisha for the next two days due to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal.
According to the IMD, light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur in some parts of coastal Odisha from 8 am today to 8 am on December 21. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in several districts including Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Balangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.The IMD has also warned of heavy rainfall in some areas, particularly in the southern and western parts of the state.Light rainfall is likely to occur in one or two places in the districts of Khordha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, and Balasore from 8 am on December 21 to 8 am on December 22.The impending rainfall is expected to bring down the minimum temperature in the state, which has been experiencing cold wave conditions.As per IMD prediction, the minimum temperature is expected to drop by 2-4 degrees Celsius in the next four days.
