New Delhi, 27/5 (AO Bureau):Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha and West Bengal on Friday to take stock of the devastation caused by the Cyclone Yaas. The PM will first go to Bhubaneswar and hold a review meeting there. After this, he will conduct an aerial survey of the affected areas like Balasore, Bhadrak and East Midnapore. After this, we will go to West Bengal and have a review meeting.
Let us tell you that the cyclonic storm ‘Yas’, which was dangerous due to the low pressure area created in the Bay of Bengal, has now progressed after the devastation in West Bengal and Odisha. More than 2 million people have been affected by the cyclonic storm ‘Yas’. Due to rain, many houses have been broken in Bengal and 4 people have died in both the states.
The homes of 3 lakh people in Bengal were destroyed by this storm
Areas of Midnapore district are seen to be most affected by cyclonic storm ‘Yas’. After Digha, Shankarpur, Mandaramani South 24 Parganas district, the houses of 3 lakh people have been devastated by this storm from places like Bakkhali, Sandeshkhali, Sagar, Fraserganj, Sundarbans etc. The strength of the Yas cyclone can be gauged from the fact that more than 130 dams have broken, which is hampering relief operations.
Right now the effect is showing in Jharkhand
After wreaking havoc in Bengal and Odisha, Yas storm entered Jharkhand from West Singhbhum at one o’clock on Wednesday night. During this time the wind speed was 60 kilometers per hour. The impact of the storm is still seen in the state that 21 districts of Jharkhand have been raining continuously for the last 24 hours. Due to strong winds in Jamshedpur and Dhanbad, many trees and electric poles fell, due to which more than 200 villages are still covered in darkness.
