Saraswati river re emerges in Rajasthan desert during borewell digging!

Jaisalmer: During the digging of a borewell in Jaisalmer district, situated on the land of the desert dunes of western Rajasthan, water suddenly came out. The pressure of the water was so high that people were surprised to see it. In a short time, the water filled the surrounding area. The team of the ground water department of the central government and the state government have also reached the spot and are investigating the incident of water suddenly coming out of the ground on a large scale. The discussion in the area is that how did so much pressure of water come and from where? The local people are assuming that the Saraswati river which had disappeared hundreds of years ago has come back into existence.Senior Ground Water Scientist and In-charge, Rajasthan Ground Water Board Department, Dr Narayan Inkhiya says, “During the tubewell drilling in Mohangarh, spontaneous flow of groundwater had started. Groundwater was flowing in a large amount.”Dr Narayan Inkhiya further said, “In Jaisalmer, generally, groundwater is found in a confined condition. This condition existed for 2 days, however today, due to the maintenance of the static water level, the inflow of water has stopped and at present, there is no such activity happening here.”
