Bhubaneswar, October 05, 2026: ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) under its CSR flagship Project ‘Aarogya’ observed National Nutrition Month at its operational locations
across Odisha as part of its commitment to the health and well-being of the community. In Paradeep, awareness session was organised at Nuagarh Gram Panchayat office and Chakradharpur Anganwadi to promote nutritional awareness, especially among women and adolescent girls. The event was graced by Shri Debendra Rout, Sarpanch, Nuagarh and Dr. Rajesh Mishra, Chief Medical Officer, AM/NS India, Odisha. Dr. Mishra addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of consuming a balanced diet enriched with essential nutrients for overall health, growth, and well-being. More than 200 participants attended the programme including Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANM) staff, adolescent girls and women of the nearby villages. A similar awareness session was also organized at the Anganwadi Centres in Kalmang and Sagasahi villages, which was attended by more than 100 local women, children, school teachers, and grassroots health workers. Unit, AM/NS India, emphasized the importance of balanced nutrition and healthy dietary habits. On the occasion, the participants pledged to break the cycle of malnutrition and work towards a
healthier future. In Thakurani mine area, National Nutrition Month was celebrated at the Munda Shahi Anganwadi Centre in Dalki village with a focus on promoting healthy eating practices and
raising awareness on the importance of nutrition for community well-being. Dr. Subrat Dhal, Medical Officer, CSR Dispensary, AM/NS India, Dalki, addressed the gathering and emphasized
the importance of maintaining a balanced diet. They encouraged households to develop backyard kitchen gardens to ensure access to fresh and nutritious food. AM/NS India is extending its programme to various villages, bringing meaningful change to communities and empowering women, children, and adolescent girls. Through this expanded outreach, the company reaffirms its commitment to nurturing healthier, stronger, and more resilient communities across its operational locations in Odisha.
