Mumbai, 28/12 (AO Bureau )The share of the domestic stock market continued to rise on Monday. This is the reason that the market managed to close at a record level after the first trading session of the week. The Nifty closed above 13,850 points on Monday due to support in metal and financial stocks. The 30-share benchmark index Sensex climbed 380 points, or 0.81%, to close at 47,353.75 points after day trading. The Nifty 50 also closed with a gain of 123.90 points, or 0.90%, at 13,873.20.
All sectors except the pharma sector are on the green mark
Nifty today witnessed the biggest gains in shares of Tata Motors, JSW Steel, HDFC Life, Titan and SBI Life Insurance. Stocks of JB, Sun Pharma, HUL, Shree Cements, Britannia Industries, and Cipla were seen trading on the red mark. Today, apart from the pharma sector, all other sectors were seen trading on the green mark. Nifty PSU banks closed up 2.7 percent, realty 2.6 percent, metal 2.5 percent, and auto sector 1 percent. BSE Midcap and BSE Smallcap (BSE Smallcap) index closed up 0.8 to 1.5 percent.
