Kochi Naval Base issues arrest warrant against missing Odia Navy personnel Saurabh Kumar Patra

Berhampur: The authorities of Kochi Naval Base has reportedly issued an arrest warrant against Odia Navy personnel Saurabh Kumar Patra, who went missing since January 19, 2025 while going back to attend his duty.Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek M informed that they have received the arrest warrant issued against Saurabh Kumar Patra and have intimated about it to his family members.The SP also said that the police are making all efforts to trace him and continuing their probe from all angles including his financial transactions and technical inputs. However, they are yet to get any clue of the navy personnel.It is to be noted here that Saurabh Kumar Patra of Gate Bazar area in Berhampur had joined the Indian Navy in 2019 and was recently posted as acting leading communicator at INS Garuda in Kochi. He had come on a leave in December 2024 and left the house on January 19 to attend his duty.The navy personnel, who boarded a train to Visakhapatnam from Berhampur, was supposed to catch a flight to Kochi from Visakhapatnam. However, his family members did not know about his whereabouts as his mobile phone was switched-off. The worried family members had filed a missing case with the Berhampur Town Police requesting the cops to find him, following which an investigation was initiated, but the cops are yet to know his whereabouts.
