Odisha Cabinet approves Antyodaya Gruha Yojana, Sports stadium and UPS scheme

Bhubaneswar: In the recently held Cabinet meeting of Odisha government at the Lok Seva Bhawan, 11 proposals have been given a nod. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed this in a press meet today.The Antyodaya Gruha Yojana was given approval. Under this, the Odisha government will provide 2.25 lakh houses in three years to the eligible beneficiaries. The beneficiaries will receive Rs 1.10 Lakh for construction of houses.If the beneficiaries complete their house within four months then they are entitled to receive Rs 20,000 as bonus. If they finish house construction within 6 months they will receive a bonus of Rs 10,000. The state government plans to allot Rs 7,550 crores for this yojana.As an encouragement for sports in the fields of football, cricket, atheletics and other sports Rs 4,124 crores will be spent to build a stadium in the next five years.The Unified Pension System (UPS) will be followed in the state. The people under the National pension scheme (NPS) will get the benefits under it.  As many as 3,33,000 employees under the State government will decide whether they want the NPS or the UPS for themselves.For the reconstruction of the dams and their redevelopment Rs 1066 crores will be spent. Three projects will be taken up for Hirakud dam reconstruction and development. This work will be finished within 6 years. The approval of the Odisha cabinet proposals will prove to be beneficial for the people of Odisha.
