Calcutta, 21/2:The NTPC Electron Regional Finals ( Kolkata Round) of Eastern Region-II witnessed an intense battle of intellect, with IIM Calcutta emerging as the champion in the Kolkata Rounds. The team of Ms Aarya Arun and Mr.Komal Vasudeva from IIM Calcutta secured the top position with an impressive score of 99, followed by another IIM Calcutta team comprising of Shri Piyush Kedia and Shri Amartya Sen in second place with 70 points. IIFT Kolkata, represented by Shri Siddharth Sankar Rout and Shri Ivan Mohanty, secured third place with 50 points.
The event was graced by Shri Arindam Sinha, Regional Executive Director, ER-II, NTPC Limited as the Chief Guest, in the presence of Shri John Mathai, Member Secretary and Board Member, DVC, and Shri Prabhat Ram, Regional Head of HR, ER-II, NTPC. Shri Prabhat Ram delivered the welcome address, setting the stage for an engaging and competitive event. Shri Gautam Bose, CEO, of Greycells Quiz and Event Management, conducted the competition with enthusiasm.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Arindam Sinha commended NTPC for its efforts in promoting knowledge-based initiatives like the Electron Quiz, which has been engaging young minds since 2004. He lauded the participants for their enthusiasm, analytical thinking, and competitive spirit, emphasizing that this quiz is not just about winning but about continuous learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving—qualities that define future leaders and decision-makers. Shri Sinha encouraged the students to keep their spirit of inquiry alive and wished the top two teams success in the National Finale of the NTPC Electron Quiz which will be held later this month in New Delhi.
This year’s Eastern Region-II Kolkata Rounds saw an overwhelming response, with 120 teams registering, comprising 240 students from Odisha, West Bengal, and the North Eastern states. The event continues to be a significant platform, inspiring students to enhance their knowledge, teamwork, and strategic thinking.
The top two teams from the Kolkata Rounds will now move forward to compete in the National Finale of the NTPC Electron Quiz.
