Fishing boat catches fire in Raigad, 18 crew members rescued safely

Raigad: In a shocking incident, a fishing boat caught fire in Raigad district of Maharastra said reports on Friday. The incident took place in the early morning hours. According to available reports, the fishing boat of a man identified as Rakesh Gan caught fire. The boat was around 6-7 nautical miles from the coast in Raigad district. The incident took place in Akshi Alibaug. The Indian Coast Guard and Indian Navy rescued all the 18 crew members from the boat safely. The information was confirmed by Raigad Superintendent of Police (SP) Mukesh Chavhan. ICGS SavitriBai Phule, on patrol off Mumbai, sighted IFB on fire in Position 190 Prongs Lt 21. The ship responded to the situation and confirmed that all fishermen from the boat had embarked on another IFB in the area and were safe. The ship is engaged in FF ops.
