Jharsuguda: A new twist has been witnessed in the murder case of former Odisha minister Naba Das. Today a Crime Branch investigation team visited Jharsuguda airport to probe the case. It has been learnt that probe is being carried out at the hospital and the airport. It is to be noted that after the shootout at the Gandhi Chhaka of Brajrajnagar on January 29, 2023 Naba Das was airlifted to Bhubaneswar. Reportedly, the CB team is probing to ascertain when and how the airlift of the shot at former Minister took place and who were present during the airlift. Yesterday, the investigation officer and the Additional SP along with the Crime Branch DSP recorded the statements of the family members of Naba Das at their house in Sarbahal of Jharsuguda. The statements were recorded by the Crime Branch for about 7 and a half hours. The statements of Deepali Das and Vishal Das were recorded first. Naba Das’ family will meet the Chief Minister today. They will meet the Chief Minister at 5 pm at Lok Seva Bhawan. Earlier, Naba Das’s wife Minati Das had approached Chief Minister Mohan Majhi for a meeting. The family wanted to file a written application for a CBI investigation into the Naba Das murder case. They had requested time to meet the Chief Minister. Naba Das was murdered on January 29, 2023. Police ASI Gopal Das committed the murder by firing four rounds of bullets at Gandhi Chack in Brajrajnagar on the former minister.
