Sambalpur: The prime accused in the Manapurram Finance dacoity was court forwarded today and will be brought in for a 10-day remand. As per West Bengal court’s order, the prime accused Subodh Singh in the Manapurram Finance dacoity will be taken for a 10-day transit remand. He will be produced in front of the SDJM court in West Bengal. Currently he is an inmate at the Hoogly jail in West Bengal. Earlier, three people were arrested in this gold robbery incident. Bakshi Paswan from Guwahati, Assam, Ajay Paswan and Pankaj Paswan from Hajipur, Bihar were arrested. As many as six to seven robbers wearing helmets, threatened the employees with guns and looted 30 kg of gold jewellery and hard cash of Rs 4 lakhs. The robbery happened in Manappuram Finance Limited Company in the Budharaja area under Ainthapali police limits in Sambalpur district on January 3 in the broad daylight. “When we tried to stop them, they pulled out their guns and threatened us. They even manhandled us to shut our mouths,” stated the Assistant branch head Sudhir Rath. “After that four others instructed me to open the lockers. The stole away 29 kgs of gold jewellery and Rs 4.81 lakh and ran away in three bikes towards the highway,” he added.
