Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday predicted that a Low-Pressure area is likely to be formed over the south Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours under the influence of the upper air cyclonic circulation over the southeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood extends up to middle tropospheric levels. Widespread to light to moderate rainfall is very likely to occur over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, predicted the IMD adding that isolated thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds with speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph, and heavy rainfall are also likely to take place today. Weather department further said that squally weather with wind speed 35 – 45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph is likely to prevail over the Andaman Sea and over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining central Bay of Bengal from April 6 to April 9.
