Looters attack house owner, flee with gold and cash in Angul district

Talcher: Looters attacked house owner and fled from the scene with gold and cash in Angul district of Odisha recently. The incident took place in the Deulabeda area of Talcher in the district. The loot took place in the house of Ashok Das. As per reports, a few miscreants broke into the house of Ashok Das in Deulabeda after finding no one in the house. The family had gone to attend a function after locking the house. After sometime house owner Ashok and his nephew returned home and found the door of the house open. As they tried to enter the house, the two looters confronted them and launched knife attack on them. The looters overpowered the house owner and his nephew and took away the gold ornaments worth lakhs and cash amount after breaking the almirah. After being beaten by the miscreants, the house owner and his nephew critically injured. They have been admitted to the hospital. Soon others reached at the scene and informed Police about the loot. After getting information Colliery police reached the spot and initiated investigation. Police have seized a bike and some gold and silver ornaments from the back of the house. A CCTV footage is available in which the looters have been identified.
