The Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road, Shri H.S.Bajwa, inaugurated e-Clinic facilities at Jajpur Keonjhar Road, for the Railway staff working at Jajpur – Jakhpura section. With the e-clinic, the Railway staff and their family members can get medical assistance through online mode. This type e-clinic facility has been introduced for the first time in Indian Railways. The e-clinic facility has been undertaken as a pilot project through outsourcing and will cater the medical needs of 685 Railway staff and their families working in Jajpur-Jakhpura section, out of which 535 are running staff. Previously the Railway staff and their familes of this section used to visit Railway health unit at Bhadrak, for their medical needs. The e-clinic facilty have many features like, the railway employees and family can consult with doctors and specialists on online mode, after registration of UMID card. The e-consultancy will be available round the clock for for the registered members. Patients can get the prescribed medicines from the pharmacist at the e-clinic. Pathological investigation facilities are also available at the e-clinic. Shri H.S.Bajwa, DRM, congratulated the Medical department of Khurda Road division for this type of unique initiative for staff and their family members and advised all the staff working in the section to take full advantage of the e-clinic facility. Shri P.K.Behra, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operation) and Dr Sabita Sathpathy, Chief Medical Superintendent, Khurda road, were present along with other branch officers of the division, during the occasion.
