17 cobra eggs hatch into healthy younglings in Berhampur

Berhampur: At least 17 Cobra babies hatched today near the office of Forest division of Berhampur in Ganjam district. The snakes hatched after being kept warm for 7 days said sources. One Kanhu Charan Patra of Shyamalai square in Hinjili block had called the snake helpline after spotting some snake eggs on last Tuesday. The snake rescuers rushed and brought the eggs and kept in a safe place near the Forest office. According to sources, a 5-foot snake had laid the eggs in his house. The eggs were rescued and taken to a safe place near the forest office. All the eggs have hatched and the snakes are also healthy. All these hatchlings will be released today or tomorrow morning in the jungles, informed DFO. As the eggs were kept in the security, the hatchlings are all healthy.
