Balasore: In a shocking incident, a man brutally attacked his wife and two sons with an axe in Dahamunda village under Bhogarai police limits of Balasore district on Sunday. The attack was triggered due to a family dispute. The accused has been identified as Poltu Jena. On the occasion of Father’s day when the world celebrates the love and care of a father, this devil father attempted to kill his sons. According to reports, the couple had a heated argument on Sunday. The accused allegedly picked an axe lying in the house and attacked his wife and sons in a fit of rage. Jena, fled the spot after the assault. Locals hearing the screams rushed to their house and rescued the injured in critical condition. They were then immediately taken to Kamarda CHC and later shifted to SCB Medical College in Cuttack due to the severity of their injuries. Police have recovered the weapon from near the house and launched an investigation. Though no formal complaint was lodged, police began inquiry based on the information received. Search is underway to nab the absconding accused.
