Paradip – Raja Mahotsav, a celebration of Womanhood and Earth’s Fertility and also known as Mithuna Sankranti, is a unique three-day festival celebrated with great fervor across Odisha. In this occasion,the leading steel company JSW Utkal Steel has celebrated the traditional Raja festival at the company office premises in Paradip. The women employees of the company celebrated this Raja festival with great joy and happiness for three days. In the first day of the celebration, Antakshari, laying traditional Alata, making Raja Pan and Raja Queen competition were held among the girls. In this competition, Jhansi Malla won first place as Raja Queen, while Namita Nayak achieved the first position in the Alata laying competition.The winners were awarded by the JSW company officials. In the three days program, everyone participated in Ludu and Antakshari competitions along with playing Raja Doli. Later, everyone enjoyed by testing Odia traditional Poda Pitha. Finally, delicious luncheon was arranged for all participants. The function was attended by various department heads and all other officials and employees of JSW of Paradip unit.
