Athagarh: In a shocking incident, a youth was allegedly thrown in front of a speeding vehicle in Cuttack district of Odisha on Tuesday night. As a result the youth sustained critical injury and later succumbed to the injury in the hospital. The incident took place at the Mahakalabasta chhaka under Khuntuni Police Station limits. His family members have filed a murder complaint over vehicle accident in this matter. The deceased has been identified as Kahnu Rout (27) of Dwarabatipur village under Khuntuni police station limits. As per reports, last night, a mob, agitated over a bike accident near Mahakalabasta Chack under Khuntuni police station, beat up the youth and threw him in front of a pickup van that was moving on the road. And all this took place in front of the deceased’s elder brother. The youth was later rushed to the hospital but he died there while undergoing treatment. People, agitated over the murder allegations have blocked the old Cuttack-Sambalpur road by burning tyres. After getting information Khuntuni police reached the scene and tried to pacify the protestors.
