Chhattisgarh govt school teachers fails to spell ‘eleven’, viral video spurs debate on education system

A shocking video went viral on social media and sparked serious concerns on the education system after Chhattisgarh school teachers failed to spell ‘eleven’, ‘eighteen’ and ‘nineteen’. The incident was reportedly from a government school in Balrampur district of Chhattisgarh where the school teachers were unable to write spellings of elementary school words ‘eleven’, ‘eighteen’ and ‘nineteen’. The school staff included two teachers and the Headmaster, none of who could easily spell the words. This incident has thrown a reality check on the education system. The students were then asked about the name of the Chief Minister and Prime Minister which was answered with silence. Even the teachers were unable to answer these simple questions. As per reports, the District Education Officer (DEO) had barred journalists from entering the school premises. But he responded by saying that an enquiry will be conducted into the matter.
