Khurda Road Division Intensifies Cleanliness Drive Under ‘Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ Special Campaign Focuses on Awareness, Action & Participation of Staff and Passengers

Under the nationwide Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway has launched a comprehensive cleanliness drive across its jurisdiction. The initiative aims to promote a culture of hygiene, awareness and shared responsibility among railway employees and the public alike.

Workshop for Railway Employees, Stakeholders & Safai Karmacharis:

A dedicated cleanliness awareness workshop was organized for Safai Karmacharis, Rail Users and Railway Staff to reinforce best practices in sanitation, waste segregation and eco-friendly disposal methods. The session emphasized the importance of consistent cleanliness and preventive measures to maintain hygiene across railway premises.

Cleanliness Drive Across Key Areas:

A large-scale Safai Abhiyan is being conducted covering Station premises, Office establishments, Railway tracks, Platforms and circulating areas, Railway colonies, etc. Teams of railway staff, housekeeping workers, and volunteers actively participated in the cleaning activities, ensuring thorough coverage of all high-traffic and residential railway zones.

Appeal from Divisional Railway Manager:

Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road, called upon passengers and rail users to take part in the mega cleanliness drive, stressing that cleanliness is a shared duty. He encouraged travelers to maintain hygiene, use designated dustbins, and refrain from littering in public railway spaces.

Onboard Passenger Counselling:

To reinforce the message, passengers onboard trains were counselled against throwing garbage or waste onto railway tracks. Awareness posters and announcements were also placed prominently to guide and educate the public.

Spitting & Littering Discouraged:

The division is also strengthening vigilance and awareness around spitting and littering at stations, platforms, and inside trains. Strict action and counselling are being implemented to curb these unhygienic practices. Khurda Road Division remains committed to transforming railway premises into cleaner, safer, and more passenger-friendly spaces in alignment with the vision of a Swachh Bharat.
