At the same time, a large-scale vaccination campaign is going on to protect people from corona infection (Covid 19). Till now, the vaccine slot or appointment was booked from the CoWin portal, in which many times one had to wait for the slot to be vacant. Regarding this, now the government has made this slot booking more easy. Now people will be able to book slots for vaccination from WhatsApp also.
Facebook-owned company Facebook, in association with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has started this facility for people to book vaccination slots. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya himself has given this information on Twitter. He said, “Paving the way for a new era of citizen convenience, now easily book a slot for COVID 19 vaccine on your phone within minutes.”
Along with this, WhatsApp CEO Will Cathcart has also given information in this regard by tweeting. He wrote, ‘We are partnering with the Government of India and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This will facilitate people by booking slots for vaccination through WhatsApp. He says that along with booking the vaccination slot, people will also be able to download their covid 19 Vaccination Certificate through this platform. He has informed that 30 lakh Indians have taken advantage of this facility.
