Bhubaneswar-Dubai direct flight services to be discontinued from this date

Bhubaneswar: The only direct flight from Bhubaneswar to Dubai operated by IndiGo will be taken down from October 24. The Airlines is currently operating three times a week and this flight service is expected to be stopped soon. According to reports,  the updated list of the flights released by AeroRoutes does not have the mention of this Bhubaneswar-Dubai flight, which suggests that IndiGo may take down the flight. The passengers willing to travel to Dubai from Bhubaneswar can take a connecting flight travel to Abu Dhabi and then to Dubai. Former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had flagged off the maiden flight from Bhubaneswar to Dubai on May 21, 2023 from the Biju Patnaik International Airport. The flight was beneficial for the Odia diaspora in UAE. It enhanced the industrial development, facilitated investments, promoting tourism or establishing communication for the Odia diaspora residing outside India. Dubai is a major travel and tourism junction in the Middle East providing gateway to the European and the US markets. A total of 170 people including the aircraft crew travelled on this maiden flight from Bhubaneswar to Dubai. Special arrangements were made to see off the travellers from Odisha. The flyers were felicitated with Uttariya, Odisha Tourism kit bag and offered sweets and flowers by the hostesses at the departure terminal. The Odisha government had launched the first flight service to United Arab Emirates’ capital Abu Dhabi took off from Bhubaneswar on June 12. This direct flight from Biju Patnaik International Airport was flagged by CM Mohan Majhi. Similarly an Indigo flight was flagged from Bhubaneswar to Visakhapatnam. The 6E 1441 Indigo flight to Abu Dhabi took off from Bhubaneswar at 9.35 am and will reach there at 12.35 (local time of UAE). It will take off from Abu Dhabi at 2.35 am (local time) and reach Bhubaneswar at 8.35 am.
