Gadchiroli: In a major success to the armed forces, as many as four Maoists have been killed and several weapons have been recovered from the forest in the border of Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra.According to reports, after about eight hours of intermittent firing in the Koparshi forest area on the Gadchiroli-Narayanpur border, the bodies of four Maoists (that is, 1 male and 3 female) has been recovered.It is worth mentioning here that, as many as four weapons that is, one SLR rifle, two INSAS rifles and 1.303 rifles were recovered. Further search operation is underway in the area, informed Neelotpal, SP Gadchiroli.Recently on May 6, an exchange of fire took place between police and Maoists in the forest on the southwestern border of Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, bordering Malkangiri district in Odisha.According to reports, a woman Maoist was killed in a police encounter. This success was achieved during the anti-Maoist operation by DRG, STF and CRPF Cobra jawans.The security forces have recovered a gun and a large quantity of Maoist explosives from the scene. The security forces suspect that more Maoists have been killed. Hence the search operation is still underway in this regard.It is worth mentioning here that, during one of the most high-risk anti-Naxal operations underway in the KGH Hills along the Chhattisgarh–Telangana border, CRPF Assistant Commandant Sagar Borade sustained serious injuries.
