Puri: A tourist was rescued by lifeguards after he drowned while bathing in the sea at Sector 3 of the Puri beach.
The tourist, identified as Sougata Sadhukhan from North 24 at Parganas in West Bengal, was swept away by strong currents.
Thanks to the quick response of the lifeguard, Sougata was rescued and brought to safety. The prompt action of the lifeguard prevented a potential tragedy, said sources.
