DRM Waltair Reviews Passenger Facilities at Visakhapatnam Railway Station

Visakhapatnam, Sept 20:Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Waltair Division, Shri Lalit Bohra, carried out a detailed inspection of Visakhapatnam Railway Station on Friday to review key passenger amenities, assess ongoing developmental works, and ensure preparedness ahead of the forthcoming festive season.

Accompanied by senior officials from the Commercial, Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Operations, Security, and Signal & Telecom departments, Shri Bohra inspected critical areas including the functionality of lifts and escalators, drinking water facilities, platform cleanliness, coach maintenance, linen supply, crowd control arrangements, and platform roofing.

During the inspection, he interacted with passengers and staff to gather first-hand feedback aimed at further enhancing passenger convenience. He also directed officials to intensify cleanliness drives not only at the station but also in trains passing through or originating from Visakhapatnam.

The DRM further reviewed important passenger amenities such as waiting halls, AC lounge, food courts, catering stalls, parking area, booking office, and parcel office, stressing the need for efficiency and passenger satisfaction. Interacting with vendors, he emphasised on proper garbage disposal, use of dustbins, adherence to Railway Board guidelines, courteous behaviour towards passengers, and ensuring unobstructed passenger movement.

Shri Bohra underscored the importance of teamwork in creating a safe, clean, and passenger-friendly environment, and advised all stakeholders to extend full cooperation in upholding high service standards at Visakhapatnam station
