GM ECoR Reviews Facilities, Safety and Development at Visakhapatnam Station

Rayagada /VSKP :- Shri Parmeshwar Funkwal, General Manager of East Coast Railway (ECoR), carried out an extensive inspection of Visakhapatnam Railway Station today, focusing on passenger amenities, cleanliness, and ongoing development projects. He was accompanied by Shri Lalit Bohra, Divisional Railway Manager, Waltair Division, and other senior officials.

The GM reviewed key passenger service points, including the Passenger Reservation Office, General Booking Office, Capsule Hotel, and catering outlets. He interacted with frontline staff to gather direct feedback on services, crowd management and amenities. Stressing the importance of cleanliness, Shri Funkwal inspected platforms, foot overbridges, catering stalls, and also conducted a surprise check onboard Train No. 12835 SMVT Bengaluru–Hatia Express, assessing coach interiors, toilets, and water supply arrangements.

Later, he attended the 11th Annual General Body Meeting of the ECoR Congress at Ashirwad Kalyana Mandapam. In the afternoon, he visited the Multi-Disciplinary Training Centre at Marripalem, interacting with trainees and supervisors, and addressing a safety seminar. He praised the Mechanical Wing of the Diesel Loco Shed for innovative modifications that enhanced locomotive performance and safety.

The GM also reviewed facilities at the New Coaching Complex, focusing on coach maintenance, linen distribution, and pantry car upkeep of prestigious trains like the AP Express. He emphasized adopting best practices to further raise maintenance standards across the depot.
