Cuttack: Cuttack City is gradually limping back to normalcy as shops and commercial establishments have started to reopen after the district administration lifted the curfew restrictions and restored internet services.
The Cuttack district administration had imposed a 36-hour curfew restriction, suspended the internet services and banned the usage of WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and other social media services for 48 hours following violent clashes during a Durga puja idol immersion procession on Friday night.
However, as no further untoward incident was reported in the city, the district administration lifted curfew, which was in effect from Sunday night, and restored internet services yesterday. Following this, markets, shops and commercial establishments of the city have been opened and people have stepped out of their houses to purchase groceries, vegetables and daily essentials.
Besides, all the offices and banks also have started to gradually reopen and are functioning normally and people have started to visit them and do their works.
However, police force are still patrolling in key areas of the silver city to prevent any fresh disturbances and maintain law and order. Besides, the senior police officers are closely monitored the situation and have decided to take further course of action accordingly.
