Today i.e. on 8.10. 2025, a short while ago, Sri Banamali Satpathy, OAS, Executive Officer, Belaguntha NAC, Dist-Ganjam has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe of Rs.25,000/- from a staffer for relieving him on his transfer and for releasing his arrear salary and Last Pay Certificate (LPC).
Accused Sri Satpathy was demanding bribe Rs.25,000/- to release his pending arrear salary and to send his LPC (Last Pay Certificate). As a result, he was unable to draw salary at his new place of posting. Left with no other option, complt reported the matter to Vigilance authorities. Based on this, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed Sri Satpathy today at Balipadar Bus Stop, while taking bribe Rs 25,000/- from the complt. The entire bribe money Rs.25,000/- has been recovered from the possession of accused Sri Satpathy, Executive Officer and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations linked to Sri Satpathy from DA angle.
In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance PS case no 14/2025, U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Satapathy, Executive Officer, Belaguntha NAC.
