Bhubaneswar: A house owner was allegedly beaten on the road in the K4 area of Kalinga Vihar under the Tamando Police Station limits in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The incident occurred when the tenants had gone out to visit puja pandals, leaving a young woman alone in the house. The house owner allegedly misbehaved with the woman, triggering a strong reaction.
The situation escalated, and the house owner was thrashed. When police arrived and tried to intervene, they were also allegedly attacked. A platoon of police personnel was eventually deployed to restore order.
According to the DCP, four separate cases will be registered in connection with the incident. The cases include:
- A complaint lodged by the woman living in the tenant house against the house owner.
- A case filed by the house owner who was beaten.
- A case registered on behalf of the police PCR staff who were attacked.
- A case against the woman’s uncle for allegedly attacking the father of an advocate who tried to intervene.
The police have arrested four people in connection with the incident. Eyewitnesses are demanding a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served, and action should be taken against those found guilty.
