Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway (ECoR) observed Constitution Day with solemnity and pride, in line with the Government of India’s directive to celebrate 26th November every year as “Constitution Day”. The observance aims to promote constitutional values and create deeper awareness about the significance of the Indian Constitution.
The central highlight of the programme was the collective reading of the Preamble to the Constitution of India. Divisional Railway Manager, Shri Alok Tripathi, led the observance at the Divisional Headquarters, joined by Additional Divisional Railway Managers Shri P. K. Behera and Shri Subhrajyoti Mandal along with all the Branch Officers, Senior Supervisors and staff members.
Constitution Day celebrations were simultaneously organised across all offices, departments, field units, stations, depots and remote working locations under Khurda Road Division. Railway officials and staff posted at various stations and worksites actively participated by reading the Preamble at their respective locations, reaffirming their commitment to uphold the ideals of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity.
In addition to the Preamble reading, the Division encouraged awareness initiatives such as talks, webinars and online participation in the “Reading the Preamble” activity to engage citizens and railway personnel in understanding the fundamentals of the Indian Constitution.
The programme at the Divisional Headquarters was coordinated under the supervision of Senior Divisional Personnel Officer, Shri R. N. A. Parida. The observance reflected the Division’s resolve to honour the guiding principles of the Constitution and to promote constitutional values in everyday administrative and public service practices.
