Today i.e. on 26.11.2025, Sri Ramakanta Sethy, Former Asst. Block Education Officer (Retired), office of BEO, Jajpur, who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 PC Act, 1988 for demanding and taking bribe from a School Teacher to regularise his absent period, was convicted by Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 4 years and fine.
Further, the convict Sri Ramakanta Sethy, Former Asst. Block Education Officer (Retired), office of BEO, Jajpur was sent to jail custody to serve his sentence.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Sri Ramakanta Sethy, Former Asst. Block Education Officer (Retired), office of BEO, Jajpur following his conviction.
