Today i.e. on 18.12.2025, a short while ago, Smt. Sukma Hansdah, Inspector In Charge (IIC) of Dasmantpur Police Station, Dist-Koraput has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance *while demanding and taking bribe Rs. 20,000/- from a relative of accused in order to submit the Case Diary in the Court in a case registered earlier in the said PS, of which she was the Investigating Officer*. The accused was lodged in the judicial custody and the Hon’ble Court had called for the Case Diary in the case. To produce the Case Diary and enable bail, Smt Hansdah demanded bribe Rs.20,000/-from the relative of the accused, who reported the matter to Vigilance authorities. Acting on this, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed Smt Hansdah, IIC, today while taking bribe Rs 20,000/- from the relative of the accused.*The entire tainted bribe money Rs.20,000/-has been recovered from the possession of Smt. Sukma Hansda, IIC, and seized*.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at 2 locations linked to Smt. Sukma Hansda, IIC, from DA angle.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance PS Case No 39/2025, U/s 7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered against the accused Smt Hansdah. Investigation is in progress Detailed report follows.
