Cuttack, (Correspondence): The East Zone Inter University Cricket Tournament (Men) of AIU 2025-26 was inaugurated today i.e. 10.01.2026 at Ravenshaw University ground. Mr. Sourajit
Mohapatra, Chairman Selection Committee, Odisha Senior Cricket Team (OCA) was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the tournament. In his address he praised Ravenshaw University for organising such a mega event and he advised the players to play the matches in discipline and sportive sprit. He focused for all of the players “every ball is a new ball, every chance is new chance and every day is a new and fresh day for all the players” and insisted them to perform top level skills. Prof. Dharmabrata Mohapatra, Chairman Organizing Committee and Vice Chancellor (I/C), Ravenshaw University presided over the function. Sri Kahnu Charan Malik, Registrar, Ravenshaw University welcomed all the participants and organisers. Dr. Anjan Kumar Khuntia, Secretary, organizing Committee introduced the Guests, participating teams and offered vote of thanks. 74 nos. of University Cricket teams are participating in this event. The matches will be held on knock out –cum- league basis 20 over match. The tournament will continue till 22.01.2026 in different cricket grounds and all the matches will be conducted by OCA panel Umpires and Scorers. In this inaugural function Sports Council members Dr. Manoj Kumar Das, Dr. Jajnaseni Rout, Dr. Satyabrata Behera, Mr. Kalinga Kumar Das (Cricket Coach), Mr. Manas Prasad Rout, Mr. Prasad Pradhan and Mr. Bimal Kumar Ray were present and rendered cooperation for success of the event.
