Bhubaneswar, June 29: The Odisha government has decided not to withdraw the faulty textbooks already distributed for the current academic year. Instead, revised editions of the books will be provided to all schools to ensure that students study from corrected content.School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond said that the revised textbooks will be supplied to every school through District Education Officers (DEOs) and headmasters.These corrected books will be used in classrooms to ensure that teaching is carried out properly without affecting students’ learning.The Minister also said that the Chief Minister has already ordered an inquiry into the errors found in the textbooks and has taken action against officials responsible for negligence.In addition, the Chief Minister has issued a 14-point advisory to improve the textbook publication and distribution process, Gond said.The government has assured that further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation. If more individuals are found responsible for the mistakes or negligence, strict action will also be taken against them, he informed.
