New Delhi: Indian Navy warship INS Trikand thwarted a piracy attempt in the Gulf of Aden last night as pirates fled when it approached a bulk carrier.
Subsequently, marine commandos boarded the affected vessel, MV Golden Arsenal, and sanitised it. The ship has resumed its journey and is heading for Thoothukudi, carrying critical cargo for India.MV Golden Arsenal — a St Vincent and the Grenadines-flagged bulk carrier — reported on July 1 an attempted pirate attack approximately 300 nautical miles east-northeast of Djibouti while transiting from Aden.
