Odisha: H&UD Minister to launch projects worth over Rs 74 crore in 37 ULBs on Monday

Bhubaneswar: Reaffirming the state government’s commitment to creating modern, resilient and citizen-friendly urban centres, the Housing & Urban Development (H&UD) Department will roll out a massive portfolio of 494 development projects under the Mukhyamantri Sahari Bikas Yojana (MSBY) across Odisha on July 6.Housing & Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra will virtually inaugurate the completed projects and lay foundation stones for new initiatives during a state-level programme Monday afternoon.Spread across 37 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), the projects involve a total investment of Rs 74.87 crore and are aimed at strengthening urban infrastructure, improving civic amenities and enhancing the quality of life of urban residents.As part of the programme, 344 completed projects in 31 ULBs, executed at a cost of Rs 36.89 crore will be dedicated to the people. The completed projects include roads, drainage systems, community infrastructure and other public utility assets that are expected to deliver immediate benefits to citizens.Among the ULBs, Boudhgarh has completed the highest number of 58 projects, followed by Basudevpur with 54 projects and Rourkela with 34 projects.In the next phase of development, foundation stones will be laid for 150 new projects in 19 ULBs, involving an estimated investment of Rs 37.99 crore. Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) will witness the launch of 50 new projects worth Rs 17.20 crore while Rayagada will take up 22 new projects, marking a significant step towards strengthening urban infrastructure in these areas.
