Ganjam: In a shocking incident, the carcass of a leopard was found hanging from a neem tree near Jarada Chhak under Kabisuryanagar in Odisha’s Ganjam district.According to reports, the carcass of the leopard was found hanging from a tree near a crusher unit at the foothills close to Jarada village under Kabisuryanagar police station limits.Upon receiving information, Kabisuryanagar police along with officials from the Polasara Forest Division rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the leopard’s death and identify those responsible.Officials are yet to ascertain whether the animal died after climbing the tree or if it was killed elsewhere and later hung from the tree.Local people and wildlife lovers have strongly demanded strict action against the culprits under the Wildlife Protection Act.
