Kataka: A 19-year-old youth fell into the Mahanadi river while fishing from the Jobra Barrage in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Wednesday. GeographicReference.The youth has been identified as Nagaraj Rao.As per reports, Nagaraj was allegedly standing on the barrage and fishing from there with his net when he slipped and fell into the water.On receiving information, personnel from the Chauliaganj Fire Station rushed to the spot and rescued the youth from the river.The accident had happened in the early morning hours.In spite of warning from the district administration not to fish at the barrage due to safety issues, many were found indulging in fishing from there.
