The Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar Neeladri celebrated its 6th Installation Ceremony, titled “Nirmalya,” with great enthusiasm and Rotary spirit on Wednesday, 22nd July 2026, at Crystal Hall, Hotel HHI, Kharvel Nagar, Bhubaneswar. The ceremony marked the formal installation of the Club’s leadership team for Rotary Year 2026–27 and reaffirmed the Club’s commitment to creating lasting impact through meaningful service.The evening commenced with registration and fellowship, followed by a special presentation showcasing the achievements of Rotary Year 2025–26. Immediate Past President Rtn. Sujit Kumar Rout felicitated members who had made outstanding contributions during the previous Rotary year. The Club also honoured its Charter Members for their unwavering commitment and invaluable contribution since the Club’s inception.The formal proceedings began with the arrival of the dignitaries, the National Anthem, ceremonial lighting of the lamp, and the presentation of saplings as a symbol of environmental responsibility. The Chairman welcomed the gathering, after which Immediate Past President Rtn. Sujit Kumar Rout reflected upon the achievements of the outgoing year. Outgoing Secretary Rtn. Rakesh Kumar Dalai presented the Secretary’s Report highlighting the Club’s accomplishments during Rotary Year 2025–26.A defining moment of the evening was the ceremonial Exchange of the Collar and Gavel, through which Rtn. Abhisek Mitra formally assumed office as the President of the Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar Neeladri for Rotary Year 2026–27.In his Presidential Address, Rtn. Abhisek Mitra unveiled the Club’s Vision for the coming year, centred on the theme of Creating Lasting Impact. He announced ambitious yet achievable goals aimed at strengthening the Club and expanding its service footprint across society.Among the key objectives announced were:Expanding Club membership to 75 quality members, representing over 50% growth.Increasing contributions to The Rotary Foundation to approximately USD 12,500 while achieving 100% member participation.Launching Project Parivartan, a holistic village adoption initiative focusing on education, healthcare, sanitation and sustainable livelihood.Supporting the proposed Rotary Cancer Hospital initiative.Promoting sustainable agriculture through awareness on bio-fertilisers and nano-fertilisers.Organising blood donation drives targeting more than 1,500 units during the year.
Conducting a Mega Organ Donation Awareness Campaign.
Undertaking environmental conservation initiatives through plantation and awareness programmes.
Establishing one new Rotaract Club and one new Interact Club to nurture future leaders.
The Club’s Action Plan for Rotary Year 2026–27 was presented by Incoming Secretary Rtn. Abhishek Khemka, outlining a comprehensive roadmap for implementing these initiatives.
The newly elected Board of Directors and Office Bearers were introduced by the President and were formally administered the Oath of Office by the Installation Officer. The ceremony also witnessed the induction of new Rotary members, reaffirming the Club’s continued commitment to welcoming dedicated professionals into the Rotary family.
The Installation Ceremony was graced by several distinguished Rotary leaders and eminent personalities. PDG Rtn. Ajay Agarwal, Former District Governor, Rotary District 3262 and Club Advisor, attended as the Chief Guest and delivered an inspiring address highlighting the importance of ethical leadership, service and membership development. He also administered the oath to the newly inducted members.
The gathering was further addressed by the Assistant Governor, while Rtn. Ashutosh Rath, Director (HR), NALCO, attended as the Guest of Honour and shared his thoughts on leadership, community development and corporate social responsibility.
The programme also included the felicitation of Major Donors and distinguished Rotary leaders, followed by the celebration of the Club’s Charter Day with cake cutting and a group photograph. The evening concluded with the Vote of Thanks and a Fellowship Dinner, strengthening the bonds of friendship and service among members and guests.
The successful celebration of “Nirmalya” reflected the Club’s unwavering commitment to the ideals of Rotary and marked the beginning of another inspiring year of fellowship, leadership and service above self.
