Rayagada Police Bust Bike Theft Gang, Recover 3 Motorcycles

RAYAGADA: July 23, 2026: In a significant crackdown on vehicle theft, the Rayagada district police have successfully busted a bike theft gang and recovered three stolen motorcycles. The breakthrough came during the investigation of cases registered at two different police stations in the region.

 

According to official sources, the recovery was made in connection with Rayagada PS Case No. 270/26 registered under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and Chandili PS Case No. 125 dated 09.04.2026, also under Section 303(2) of the BNS.

 

During the course of the investigation, the police apprehended a juvenile offender, classified as a Child in Conflict with Law (CICL). The minor was subsequently produced before the Honourable Principal Magistrate of the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) for further legal proceedings.

 

The three recovered motorcycles are currently being held as case property for evidence. Local authorities have confirmed that further interrogation is underway to determine if the gang was involved in similar thefts across other parts of the district. The Rayagada police have urged residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to vehicle theft to their nearest police station.
