New Delhi, 24/7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed legislation to crack down on paper leaks is expected to strengthen the existing legislation on paper leaks, while adding provisions for special fast-track courts, stringent action against organised paper leak rackets with penal provisions that might include up to 10 years’ imprisonment and fines of up to Rs 10 crore.According to sources, the government is preparing amendments to the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, instead of a completely new legislation, with some of the proposed amendments including the creation of special fast-track court.
