Maharashtra: The Maharashtra government may clear the petition of Shah Rukh Khan for a refund of Rs 9 crore as excess payment on the land where his home, ‘Mannat,’ is located. The actor had made the excess payment for the land where his iconic bungalow is located in Bandra, Mumbai. The property, spread over 2,446 square meters, was transferred in the names of Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan through a registered agreement.The couple made an advance payment of 25 percent of the ready reckoner value in March 2019. This calculation arrived at roughly Rs 27.50 crore, sources indicate. Later, as per this narrative, it comes to pass that Khan becomes privy to the fact of some ‘accidental mistake’ of the part of the state government at the point of calculation. While calculating the conversion fee, instead of computing with the help of the valuation of the plot, the price of the bungalow was put in.The ‘unintentional error’ by the authorities was discovered by the Khans in September 2022 and Gauri Khan lodged a representation before the collector, MSD, seeking a refund of the excess amount, which is stated to be Rs 9 crore. Sources told that it has been forwarded to the state government and once they give an Nl, the state officials said the excess payment will be refunded.
