Pakistani woman with expired visa living in Bhubaneswar leaves for Pakistan

Bhubaneswar: Pakistani woman residing in Odisha, has left India after the Centre directed the states to identify Pakistani nationals and deport them. According to sources, she had come to Odisha’s Bhubaneswar in 2008. She had a love marriage to Mohammad Nizammudin and was since then residing in the state. However, in 2024 her visa expired. The woman had applied to the Commissionerate Police for an exit permit to leave India and go to Pakistan. But her application was rejected. However after the Pahalgam terror attack when all Pakistanis have been ordered to leave India, the police have also given a notice to the Pakistani woman in question to leave Bhubaneswar. In the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Centre had directed all the states to identify Pakistani nationals and deport them within 48 hours. Similarly, another Hindu woman from Pakistan was found to be living in Odisha on a long-term visa. She has reportedly married a Hindu from Odisha and has also taken Indian citizenship. It is worth mentioning here that, there are as many as 12 Pakistani nationals in Odisha. They have been served notice to leave India within 48 hours, informed Police DGP YB Khurania. “There are presently 12 Pakistani nationals in different districts of Odisha. They have been served notice to leave India within 48 hours”, said the Police DGP.
