Armed robbers stormed a house in Bhadrak’s Amburuli panchayat, Talang village, and looted cash and gold worth over Rs 30 lakh.On Friday night around 10 PM, nearly eight men carrying guns and knives entered the home of Gangadhar Mallik near the Talang canal embankment. The family was having dinner when the gang forced them at gunpoint to open the almirah. The robbers seized gold ornaments and cash, including ₹22 lakh kept aside for land purchase.Gangadhar, his wife, son, and brother-in-law faced threats as the gang displayed weapons. After collecting valuables, the robbers locked the family inside a room and fled. They also took away all mobile phones to prevent immediate calls for help.The family later alerted neighbours through a window, who helped them escape the locked room. According to Gangadhar, only one robber wore a mask while others kept their faces uncovered. The group spoke in both Odia and Hindi.Police from the Bhadrak rural station reached the spot and began an investigation. The incident has triggered fear in the area, with residents demanding swift action.
