The Jujumura Police have arrested a health centre attendant, Bijay Kumar Sethi (40), in connection with allegations of job fraud and exploitation of a woman over five years.According to Case No. 145/2026, Bijay allegedly lured the victim with promises of securing employment, extracting large sums of money in the process. He later trapped her in a relationship, assuring marriage while maintaining repeated physical contact. However, neither the promised job nor marriage materialised, leaving the woman defrauded and compelled to approach the police.Police detained Bijay on Wednesday and produced him in court today. Reports suggest attempts were made to pressure the victim and police to settle the matter, but Jujumura Police proceeded firmly with the case.Local sources said Bijay, originally from Debagada district, had been working for years at the Jujumura medical centre in Sambalpur, where he built ties with residents. Allegations now claim he misused this trust for personal gain.
