Mayurbhanj: A sub-inspector was arrested on Saturday for allegedly having sexual relations with a woman on pretext of marriage.The accused sub-inspector Pravat Kumar Nayak, was posted at Baripada Town Police Station.A rape case has been filed against an SI working at Baripada Town Police Station in Mayurbhanj district. The young woman has alleged that he cheated her by promising her marriage.As per complaint, he had allegedly established physical relationship with a young woman from Puri on the promise of marriage. Later, he cheated her. Based on the complaint, the police have arrested the SI.Following the complaint, Baripada Town Police registered a case and initiated an investigation. The woman has sought strict action against the accused police officer.Meanwhile, SI Pravat Kumar Nayak has denied the allegations against him. He has claimed to have married the young woman.So, while the claims of both the parties in the case have come to the fore, the real facts of the incident will be clear after the police investigation.
