Bhubaneswar Music Circle Presents Enchanting “Odissi Bichitra”

Bhubaneswar, June 30: Bhubaneswar Music Circle successfully organized an evening of classical Odissi music and dance titled “Odissi Bichitra” at Jayadev Bhavan, Bhubaneswar, drawing an appreciative audience of music lovers and connoisseurs.

Bhubaneswar Music Circle (BMC), established in 1963, is a premier non-profit cultural organization in Odisha dedicated to the promotion and popularization of Indian classical music and dance. Over the decades, BMC has been hosting regular monthly concerts, classical recitals, and prestigious annual festivals featuring eminent regional and national artistes.

The programme was presented by the students and artistes of Ramhari Das Odissi Gurukula Trust, a renowned institution founded in 2011 by eminent Odissi music exponent Guru Ramhari Das. The Trust is chaired by distinguished Mardala Guru Guru Dhaneswar Swain. Both maestros are recipients of the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards and have made significant contributions to the propagation of Odissi music in India and abroad.

The evening featured an impressive repertoire including Group Mardala recital, Shiv Vandana, Solo Odissi Raganga, Bhabanga, Natyanga (Barsha Geeta), Champu, Chhanda, Geetagobinda duet, and Shree Jagannath Chapa Geeta.
