BJP sets to defeat TMC and form government in West Bengal

Kolkatta, 4/5The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has continued to maintain a significant margin in leads over the ruling All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), as vote counting progresses for 293 seats in West Bengal. As the trends continued to pour in, TMC leaders termed the situation “fishy”, and urged caution in making claims of a landslide victory.

The TMC looks to hold on to power, while the BJP seeks to make a historic breakthrough and claim the State for the first time. Meanwhile, the CPI(M) and the Congress will be watching with equal keenness, hoping to reclaim a foothold in the State’s electoral map after five years in the wilderness, following their wipeout in the 2021 polls
