Jagatsinghpur, 20/8:Today i.e on 20.08.2026, a short while ago, Manoj Ranjan Nayak, Block Programme Manager (NHM), Kujang CHC , Dist-Jagatsinghpur has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance *while demanding and taking a bribe of Rs.20,000/- from a health staffer (Ashakarmi) working under the said CHC threatening to prepone her retirement on the basis of her age as per Aadhar card*. The Ashakarmi had two more years of service based on the date of birth mentioned in her School Leaving Certificate i.e dtd.17.05.1966 (which she had submitted at the time of appointment as Ashakarmi). However, pointing to an error in the Aadhar Card issued later, the accused staffer Sri Nayak was threatening to end her service if the bribe amount was not paid to him. Finding no other alternative, the Ashakarmi ( Complainant) reported the matter to vigilance authorities narrating harassment by Sri Nayak. Based on this, today, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed Sri Nayak while taking bribe Rs 20,000/- from the complainant. *The entire tainted bribe money Rs.20,000/- from the possession of accused Sri Nayak and seized*.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations linked to Sri Nayak from DA angle.
In this connection, Kataka Vigilance PS Case No.31 dtd.19.08.2026, U/s-7PC (Amendment)Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the accused Sri Nayak, Block Programme Manager, Kujanga CHC.
