New Delhi, 10/8: Beijing on Monday protested New Delhi’s move to formally assign names to 27 places and features in Arunachal Pradesh on the official map of India, alleging that it was intended to replace names long used by China to identify places in South Tibet.
A spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing stated that India’s move was “illegal and invalid” and it “would not change the fact that ‘South Tibet’ belonged to China”. He stressed that China never recognised Arunachal Pradesh as a state of India.
